The Board of Directors at the San Bernardino Mountains Wildlife Society (SBMWS) has developed both a 5-Year and 10-Year plan for The Society and for Wildhaven Ranch in particular.
Five Year Plan:
1. Develop our three program areas (wildlife rehabilitation, education and visitation), allowing the organization to
meet the requirements for Department of Fish and Game rehabilitation and education permits.
2. Develop a solid identity attractive to founders.
3. Recruit and hire self-motivated, success-oriented, and hardworking staff.
4. Accept land gifts that will further our rehabilitation efforts to provide habitat for released wildlife.
Ten
Year Plan:
As the SBMWS works towards the completion of its short-term goals, The Society
is also looking to the future in several strategic areas.
Acquisitions: SBMWS will look towards acquiring parcels across the mountain and high desert for the purpose of utilizing additional sites to release rehabilitated wildlife.
Capital Improvements: Capital Improvements: The current Wildhaven Ranch will have evolved into a more
extensive “Forever Free Wildlife Care Center."
Wildhaven’s Center of Learning will be expanded to include the Animal Adventure Area that will provide half-acre to two acre habitats for individual species of educational animals viewed by the public.
We will work closely with government agencies to (1) acquire natural habitat lands, (2) encourage sensitive land management and (3) facilitate the preservation of natural lands and species.
